CANDIED ALMONDS

These sweet and crunchy candied almonds make the perfect topping.  I love them in a salad, over yogurt, or on their own as an addictive snack


ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon egg white

  • 1 tablespoon water

  • 1 cup sliced almonds or nut of choice

  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar

  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • Pinch kosher salt


Makes 1 cup

Preheat the oven to 250 degrees.  

Whisk together the egg white and water until frothy.   Add the sliced almonds.  

In a separate bowl, mix together sugar, cinnamon and salt and fold into the almond mix.  Spread out on a lined cookie sheet, bake at 250 for 30-45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes.  Set aside to cool, break up pieces with your hands.

Store in an airtight container for up to a month.
